Criteria:

The Recipients must be majoring in the Visual Arts with a GPA of at least 2.5


The William Artis Visual Arts Endowed Scholarship was named in memory of the nationally known African-American sculptor, who was Associate Professor of Ceramics and Sculpture at CSC from 1955-1965. Artis studied with Augusta Savage and was part of the Harlem Renaissance. Artis's works can be found not only at Chadron State College, but the National Portrait Gallery in Washington DC and other collections around the United States.
