Leo & Eunice Hoevet Pre-Med Endowment

Criteria:

The recipient must be a student who demonstrates that he/she is a capable student and one who shows a definite interest in the field of medicine. He/she shall be a Pre-Med student.

Dr. Leo Hoevet and his wife Eunice came to Chadron in 1936, when he joined a family practice clinic--the Pierce Clinic. He practiced as a physician and surgeon in Chadron for the next 44 years retiring in 1980. During much of his practice, he was the team doctor for the CSC athletics. Mrs. Hoevet was a registered nurse. They had met while attending the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She died at age 94 in 2004.
